Inside a Pod on Passion Flower Vine

So last Tuesday I was at my brother's house for my nephew's (Riley) birthday. While I was there I noticed some orange pods (forgot to take a picture) dangling on their Passion flower vine. I decided to grab one, and my fingers almost went right through it, it was so soft. After managing to pluck one off without puncturing it...I tore it open to have a look inside. It was full of these gooey red seed look things, I have no idea what it is. SO, of course I am enlisting the help of you, my dear readers...what is this pod thing? Is it a seed pod? Here are some pictures....

Aah the passion flower...you remember this, right?
Okay here it is....what do you think?

The inside felt very gelatin like...and for you, because I knew you would want to know...I tasted it (kind of...I stuck my finger in and got some juice)..It was a little sweet, but it was very faint. Okay people, work your magic and enlighten me.

Claudia, Thanks! I was wondering if it was fruit. Too scared to actually take a real taste though...it looked kind of creepy.

Lindsey ~Hmmm...do you like passion fruit? Does it taste good?

Cathy~ Weird... right?!

Tash ~ Riley came first (he is 15...I can't believe it). Unfortunately I have a very simple camera...so I only have one lense. I am sure you could have done wonders with this...hmmm, maybe a contest is in order. Oh and thanks for the heads up on the blogroll thing...I did not know that, but I have updated my blog accoringly. Are you sick of me checking your blog 8 times a day ;)

Irish ~ You dumb? No way..I would never use the word dumb when thinking of you....silly!

I tried crab apples that way in college. Didn't know what they were, but the mockingbirds were eating them, so I tried one. Pretty good, but tart.

I hope that's passion fruit. Looks interesting.
